CS186DV in 10.0 cu. ft. ported, 42 Hz box @ 1200 watts | ||||||

Our CS186DV in a 10 cu. ft. box, tuned to 42 Hz, is without a doubt currently our highest output system using a single driver and one of the highest you’ll find anywhere! Get this: The open space curve goes completely off the graph, even before the auto’s acoustic boost is added! Again, please keep in mind that the curves reference use of the driver with the coils in series, such as with multiple woofers connected in parallel (to a REALLY big amp.) With the coils in parallel the sensitivity will be 6 dB higher. So much sound level is radiating out of the port in this system that we recommend an 8” I.D. x 1 7/8” long port (50.26 sq. inches cross-section) as the absolute minimum to use. If you can, go bigger: use a 10” I.D. x 4 ¾” long port (78.54 sq. in. cross-section) or even larger: 12” I.D. x 8 5/8” long (113.1 sq. in. cross-section.) Why would you want to compromise? As always, be sure to allow for the port in your box volume calculations. Also please see the 1.5 cu. ft. box for port cross-section details. And last, for full power handling, use a steep HP filter @ 27 Hz.
