 Credence subwoofer performance curve

Home and car system.

We included this system mostly to show that there is not a LOT of benefit in going from 2.0 or 2.1 cu. ft. to 2.5 cu. ft., in a standard ported design, with our new 12RPSLD4 woofer.  However, this system does go a bit lower, at slightly less power handling.  The enclosure is tuned to 24 Hz.  The –3dB point on the low end is 22 Hz, with useable response down below 20 Hz.   Used in-car, the response is, as always, much more powerful!  The port requirement is 3” I.D. x 11 1/8” long, or, better, 4” I.D. x 20 7/8” long, so, if you don’t use an external port, the volume in the cabinet occupied by the port will be substantial.  Be sure to use a sharp High Pass filter at 20 Hz, for good power handling.
